During COVID, you can show others you care from afar by joining us as we #Dare2Tutu

In 2015 we began what would be our annual fundraising event, Dare2Tutu. People love Bob's photographs in his pink tutu, and it made sense to invite others to do the same. It was a simple idea; purchase a tutu, make a donation, and share your support of the breast cancer community by posting a photograph using the hashtag #Dare2Tutu. Our goal was to cheer a patient's day and inspire others to join.

COVID has been especially difficult for families with compromised immune systems. Health risks, potential loss of income, and separation anxiety are just a few of the breast cancer community's challenges. The Tutu Project has already injected over $40,000 back into the community during these difficult times, focusing on getting food and utilities paid for these families.

But we still receive over 200 applications per month asking for support. We need your help!

For our 2020 donation drive, we include a tutu for donations over $25 so that together, we can participate in small ways of showing support for our breast cancer community.

In addition to supporting patients with your monetary donation, you can participate in Dare2Tutu ONLINE in many ways. Stay tuned for ideas from our team after you donate!

About The Tutu Project:

When Linda Carey was diagnosed with breast cancer, she and her husband Bob Carey had no idea that their biggest worry wouldn't just be her health. They were shocked by the expenses associated with the disease. They were also constantly worried about how they would keep their photography business afloat while Linda worked on her health. They were lucky enough to have insurance, but the out pocket expenses were staggering.

To deal with the stress of the situation, Bob turned to his trusted camera, and "Ballerina" was born. Bob staged these self-portraits in beautiful locations as a way to cheer them up; Linda carried the beautiful, yet quirky photographs to chemotherapy, and the other patients immediately thanked her for brightening their day. Bob and Linda knew they had something special, and The Tutu Project was born. They decided to dedicate the entire body of work to breast cancer patients and started the Carey Foundation in 2013 to help ease the financial burdens they experienced themselves.

Since 2013, we have impacted hundreds of US-based patients by paying for childcare, rides to chemotherapy, meals, alternative therapies, lymphedema sleeves, and more. Globally, we have inspired hundreds of thousands to wear tutus to cheer up a loved one when they need it most.

We are proud to work with Companies that Care big and small such as Bloomingdale's and Jet Linx, to drive major donations. But it's our direct supporters that can make the biggest impact year after year.

Won't you join us in making a difference to men and women with breast cancer?

Thank you to all of our Companies that Care, group, and individual donors that make this all possible.
